Men's Mountain Bike Clinic
Written by Lon Cullen - Mountain bike instructor for our February 26-28 Men's Clinic!
I can’t say enough good things about the food, hospitality, and lodging that I’ve experienced in the past at Mulberry Gap. I’m looking forward to teaching the mountain bike skills camp at Mulberry Gap on February 26-28, 2016. While the focus of the camp is on beginner through intermediate skilled riders, this is the same material that I t
each riders of all abilities. I have had an experienced “cat. 1” racer who frequently races the Leadville 100 tell me that the skills that are taught in this camp have helped him set new “PRs.” Equally as important, I’ve had beginner through intermediate level riders tell me how much more confident they are just knowing what they are supposed to be doing—instead of just guessing.
I wanted to share a little more about myself before the camp coming up in February. Having an earned doctorate, I have served as an instructor in both youth athletics and adult academics. I have applied my instruction skills to a sport that I am passionate about…mountain biking.
I have been riding the classic mountain bike trails from both the cross country and ski lift trails of Whistler, British Columbia to the old growth forests in Oregon, to the deserts of Nevada and Arizona, to the ski lift trails in California, Utah, Colorado, and West Virginia, to the Adirondacks Mountains in New York to the mountainous coffee plantations in Costa Rica and the hundreds, no, thousands of miles between. I’ve been riding a bike in the woods now for over 40 years, and no matter what your style or interest in riding is, I look forward to sharing the techniques that I have learned over the years.
