Consider Yourself Invited - New Details
We've been working hard getting out bikes set up. Packing and unpacking, determining needs versus wants and we've only got a few days left to think it all through. We've have shuffled gear around nearly every square inch of the bikes and won't know if it works until we're well into the adventure.
Overall, we're super happy about our choice in bike (Surly Krampus) as it makes the perfect rig for our little adventure on wheels. The Jones Bar has allowed more room for camping gear and other essentials. We're determined not to wear anything on our backs.
We've had a small change of plans that hopefully won't affect anyone too drastically. Instead of doing most of the Huracan 300 route, jumping on to the Florida Divide route and then heading east towards our hometown of Vero Beach, we're simplifying things a bit.
We'll still meet at the same location, same time (GPS Coordinates: N28° 35.793' W82° 14.006') at 11:00am. Andrew and I will complete the entire Huracan 300 route then ride back to our truck where it will be parked as a friends place.
On February 5th, we'll head north to Alachua, Florida (via truck) where we'll meet up with John & Scott (read about them here) two of our Florida mountain bike guides. Here, they'll give us the rundown of San Felasco Hammock Preserve, which was added on our Santor Tour for the 2016 multi-day mountain bike tour schedule for March!
We'll ride over to Ocala Friday night, crash at the Shangri-La campground and ride Santos on Saturday to complete our trip.
