From weddings, to anniversary celebrations, to birthday bashes, an event at Mulberry Gap gives you a chance to unplug in the woods with good company, homemade meals, beautiful scenery, a warm bed (or a tent beneath the stars,) hot tubs, and a wide selection of cold craft beers and delicious wines waiting for you at the end of each day -- it's bound to do wonders for the soul.
““Mulberry Gap provides a beautiful venue with a relaxed atmosphere. From the rustic accommodations and decor to the community setting where friends and family can gather for the weekend allowed us to create a unique experience for our guests that didn’t feel stuffy and fake. The food was great, the service was fantastic and everyone who attended said it was their favorite wedding ever.””
flexibility & transparency
We know that there are as many different types of weddings and events as there are folks who have a reason to celebrate! Mulberry Gap is happy to help you put together just the event you’re hoping for… whether that’s a laid-back, special event that doesn’t break the bank, or a blow-out bash with all the bells and whistles!
Either way, no one is excited about hidden fees and surprise additions, so we make sure you can see EXACTLY what the costs are from the beginning so you can design the event you want, at the price point you’re expecting. :)
Planning an event: The first fOUR questions to ask
1) Day or Overnight / Weekend Event? Day events are often the easiest and most flexible! You simply choose the items that apply to your event (meal(s), space, parking, etc. Day events will almost always need to be on a shared-usage basis with the potential for other guests around. Overnight events have lots of variation, ranging from a few people camping out to buying out the whole venue for exclusive use.
2) Shared or Exclusive Use? If you’re looking at an overnight event, you’ll need to determine if you’d like to reserve the entire Mulberry Gap venue for exclusive use, or if your event is suitable with other guests on the property and at meal times. In general, Exclusive Use comes at a significantly higher price point than shared used, but also comes with all the flexibility to set your own menus, meal times, and to place guests in all the cabins and campsites.
3) Weekend or Midweek Days? Weekend options offer great availability for your guests to join you for your event, but also comes with a two-night minimum and a higher price point. Midweek stays (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights) only require a one night stay AND have reduced midweek cabin and campsite rates, so can come in at a much lower price point than weekend options.
4) Regular or Low Season Dates? And lastly, if you’re planning an event from Mid-March through the 4th of July, or Labor Day through Thanksgiving, your rates will fall in our standard-season rates. If you have the option to plan an event in December-Early March, or in July-August you’ll be eligible for our reduced low-season rates.
Based on the type of event, days of the week, and time of the year, Mulberry Gap can offer a wide variety of price points. In general a LOW SEASON, MID-WEEK, SHARED USE event would have the lowest rates, while a STANDARD SEASON, WEEKEND, EXCLUSIVE USE event would come in at the highest price point.
Weddings & Events Frequently Asked Questions
What are menu options like? Check out our Food & Beverage Brochure for an idea of all the possible menu options.
What if we need additional chairs, an event tent, etc.? You’re welcome to reserve directly with Georgia Party & Tools Rental who can deliver directly to Mulberry Gap OR reserve the same items through us and we’ll do the work with the rental company.
Can we have live music? Yes! We’re happy to recommend a number of local bands and get that all arranged, or you can arrange your own. Alternatively, you can bring or rent a sound system or book a DJ.
Can we provide our own beer and/or wine? Yes, with a per person per day corkage fee. You’re also welcome to pre-purchase individual beer/wine through Mulberry Gap, or place a bulk order, or ask your guests to purchase directly from our retail store when open.
Can we split the costs for meals and housing with our guests? Yes! In any shared-use reservation we can simply include the items that you’d like to pay in your agreement, and you can ask your guests to book housing, meals, day use, etc. separately. In exclusive-use reservations we do require that the full payment be paid through the couple/family/organizer, but we’ve had several group who have then published a price for housing and meals and had guests pay them directly for a portion or call our office to make a payment directly.
Do we have to pay everything upfront? Nope! An initial payment of ⅓ of the total will hold and confirm your event registration. 50% of this initial payment is non-refundable. A second payment of 1/3 of the total will be due at the midpoint between your reservation and the event itself, and the remainder of any balance is due one month prior to the event.
This looks great! How can I talk to a live person and find out more details? We’d love to talk to you! Just fill out this quick Event Questionnaire (2-3 minutes) and we reach out to you very quickly, usually the same day.
Seasonal Thoughts
March through Mid April: Temperatures are brisk during the evenings and usually cool to comfortable during the day. Exclusive use weekends are usually easily available.
Mid April through the end of May: Wildflowers are in bloom and trees are budding! Temps can be cool at night, but warm (even hot) during the day as the spring continues. Exclusive use weekends can be harder to snag during May without booking pretty early.
June through Mid July: Foliage is dense and green, temperatures are warm at night an hot and summery during the day. Local summer fun (tubing, rafting, wineries, biking, and hiking) are all in full swing. Exclusive use weekends are usually available.
Mid July through August: Summer in Georgia! Morning and evening ceremonies are best as heat and humidity can be uncomfortable during the day. Exclusive use weekends are usually available.
September through Mid October: Temperatures are still warm to hot during the days and begin to cool in the evenings, leaves have not yet turned. Exclusive use weekends can be harder to snag during this time without booking rather early.
Mid October through the first week or so in November: This is it! The leaves are turning with peak being the end of October and beginning of November. If you want one of those Instagram-worthy fall in the mountains wedding weekends, talk to us about a year in advance since this is usually a super popular time!
Mid November through Mid December: Very popular wedding time! Temperatures are brisk but days are generally still comfortable, perfect hiking, exploring, and campfire weather.
Mid December through the end of February: Temperatures are cold, chance of snow, but no guarantee. *note: Mulberry Gap is usually closed during this timeframe, but dates could be arranged for an exclusive use full buy-out event.
