TRANS NORTH GEORGIA ADVENTURE
Everything you need to know about the TNGA!
What is it? The TNGA is a 350+ mile mountain bike route through the mountains of North GA on trails, forest roads, and paved roads featuring challenging terrain, beautiful scenery and over 56,000 feet of climbing.
Does Mulberry Gap Run TNGA? Nope! TNGA is it’s own thing. However, Mulberry Gap is the main support system used by riders participating in the event.
Is this the same as the “Ride to Extraordinary?” Yes! You might have seen the documentary following the 2017 TNGA. You can find this awesome adventure-packed film on Amazon Prime Video: RIDE TO EXTRAORDINARY
How do I reach the TNGA Organizers? You can keep track of updates on the TNGA Facebook page, become a part of the TNGA BIKEPACKER’S Facebook group, or email Jeff Williams (Race Director) tngarace@gmail.com.
When does TNGA happen? Traditionally, the event starts on the weekend of the Third Saturday in August. The official Grand Depart of the 17th annual TNGA will be Saturday August 15, 2026!
Eastbound or Westbound? After 15 years running in a single direction (Westbound,) 2025 saw the first route reversal (affectionately called the “AGNT” running Eastbound. Going forward, EVEN years will run Westbound, and ODD years will run Eastbound. Here’s the tentative plan for the next few years:
16th AGNT in 2025 - Eastbound
17th TNGA in 2026 - Westbound- Grand Depart August 15th
18th AGNT in 2027- Eastbound- Grand Depart August 21st
19th TNGA in 2028 - Westbound- Grand Depart August 19th
20th AGNT in 2029 - Eastbound- Grand Depart August 18th
Did I hear something about a GRAVEL OPTION? YES!! New for 2026, there will be a fully gravel category! (Don’t worry though, suffering has still been built in!)
What do I need to know to do this?
The BEST resource for gear planning, bike set up, training plans is the TNGA Bikepackers FB Group.
Sign up for the ride itself!
Ride entry is FREE, but you need to sign up separately for the ride itself, not just the support. :)
What are the support packages?
What’s included in the Mulberry Gap Support Packages? What does it cost? I need the deets!
I’m ready to book support!
I’ve read all the details and am super stoked! Where do I sign up for the Support Package?!
Can I schedule a training shuttle for just myself or a small group?
Mulberry Gap will offer “on demand” training shuttles with drop offs or pick ups at either terminus. $110pp for Alabama and $85pp for South Carolina with a $350 trip minimum. Get some buddies and give us an email at reservations@mulberrygap.com.
I want to buy TNGA merch!
Check out the store for TNGA stickers, patches, flasks, tee-shirts, maps, and more!
What about the TNGA “Preunion”/Ignition Spark Weekend?
Join us for the “High Stoke / Low Suffer” TNGA Celebration weekend May 28-31! This week is designed for you if you:
