There are miles of trails and paths winding through the Chattahoochee National Forest waiting to be explored on foot by you, your family, your friends both two-legged and four. Lace up, grab your poles, your daypack and hit the trail. Everything from the ultra-runner, thru-hikers, and weekend day-hiker - hundreds of miles of trails and gravel accessible from our gate; Cohutta Wilderness, Pinhoti Trail, Chattahoochee National Forest.

The north Georgia mountains offer a variety of options; from short hikes with the family and young kids, to longer adventures spanning hours, days, or even weeks - there’s much to explore.

The 360+ mile Pinhoti Trail is popular amongst thru-hikers. We’re located 1/4-mile off route and serve as a great location for resupply, showers, a warm bed, hearty and delicious home cooked meals, beer and charging your devices.

Mulberry Gap is an adventure retreat nestled in the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia. While the facility is primarily geared towards mountain biking, we offer a variety of services for hikers and backpackers as well. Here are some of the hiking services that we offer:

  1. Shuttles to Trailheads: Shuttle services to various trailheads in the area. Whether you need a ride to the start of your hike or a pickup at the end of a long day, Mulberry Gap has got you covered.

  2. Cabins and Campsites: If you need a place to stay before, during, or after your hike, we host a variety of cabins and campsites. Cabins are fully furnished (with linens) and include amenities such as microwave, mini fridge, towels, washcloths, and robes. Campsites are located in a peaceful wooded area and have access to shared facilities such as showers and restrooms.

  3. Shipping & Resupply: If you're planning a longer backpacking trip, Mulberry Gap can help with resupplying your food and gear in our retail store. We also are happy to hold onto any resupply packages for you until you arrive. Call ahead or email and let us know to expect a package to hold for you.

  4. Charging: Our common area, The Barn, is the best place for hikers who need to recharge their electronic devices. Whether you need to charge your phone, GPS, or camera we can help you out.

  5. Laundry: If you need to do some laundry during your hiking trip, Mulberry Gap has an employee run laundry facility on site.

  6. Shower: After a long day on the trail, nothing feels better than a hot shower. Freshen up and relax in our clean & cozy bathhouses.

  7. Beers & Wine: Finally, after a long day of hiking, you can enjoy a cold beer or wine at Mulberry Gap. Check out our retail store for our options. :)

If you're staying with us for just the day, we offer amenities for $5, which includes access to our facilities such as charging stations, restrooms, and outdoor seating areas.

If you'd like to use our shower facilities and rent a towel, the fee is $10. Please note that our hot tubs are reserved for overnight guests only.
