The Bikes On the Beams: Help Us Tell Their Stories 💛🚲
If you’ve spent any time poking around the Mulberry Gap retail store, you’ve probably noticed them.
Up in the rafters.
Quietly watching over the shop.
A little dusty. A lot legendary.
We’ve got several older bicycles mounted overhead—part museum, part time machine, part conversation starter. They were donated or loaned to us over the years, sometimes permanently, sometimes just “for a while,” and they’ve become one of those things people always ask about while shopping.
“I had one just like that.”
“My first mountain bike looked exactly like this.”
“Wow… this brings back some memories.”
And honestly? We love that.
The Problem (and a Small Confession 😬)
Here’s the embarrassing truth:
We’ve forgotten the stories behind many of them.
We don’t always know:
The exact make, model, or year
Where the bike originally came from
What adventures it’s been on
Or even who generously donated or loaned it to the display
Which is a bummer—because these bikes deserve better than anonymity.
The Big Idea 💡
We’d love to create a small display cart / placard for each bike that includes:
Make, model, and approximate year
Any notable adventures, races, tours, or stories
A proper thank-you and credit to the person who shared it with us
But first… we need your help.
Calling All Bike Historians, Former Owners & Nostalgic Legends
So here’s where you come in:
Is one of the bikes in the rafters yours?
Do you know who donated or loaned one to Mulberry Gap?
Do you recognize a bike and remember its story?
Or… do YOU have a truly cool bike with an awesome history that you’d love to loan to us for a year or two as part of the display?
We’d be thrilled to hear from you.
This little “museum” isn’t about pristine restorations or rare collectibles—it’s about stories, memories, and the shared history of bikes that got ridden hard, loved deeply, and maybe changed a life or two along the way.
How to Help
Stop by and point one out to us
Shoot us an email or message with what you know
Or tell us about a bike you’d like to see hanging in the rafters next
Let’s give these bikes their names back—and tell the stories they’ve been waiting to share.
Thanks for helping us fill in the gaps (pun fully intended).
