Where the Mulberry Gap Crew Eats around Ellijay!

One of the questions we hear almost every day is:

"Where should we eat while we're in town?"

Sure, we're known for our hearty breakfasts and home-cooked dinners here at Mulberry Gap, but everyone needs to venture into Ellijay now and then. Whether you're grabbing lunch between rides, celebrating after an epic day on the trails, or simply looking for a sweet treat, our crew has plenty of opinions.

So we asked everyone on staff to share one of their favorite local spots—and what they always order.

Brad's Picks

Brad doesn't hesitate when breakfast is on the line.

🥞 Breakfast: Mr. P's Restaurant

"If you're looking for a classic mountain breakfast before heading out on the trails, this is my pick."

Later in the day, you'll probably find him at Cartecay River Pizza, where a hot pizza always hits the spot after a long ride.

Kate's Pick

Sometimes the best recommendation isn't a full meal.

Kate's can't-miss stop is The Chili Dog, but she's there for one thing in particular:

🍥 The cinnamon rolls.

Warm, gooey, and absolutely worth the trip.

Clint's Picks

Clint had one very specific recommendation…and one very broad one.

If you're headed to River Street Tavern, order the Mahi Reuben.

Trust him.

And when it comes to Mexican food?

His official recommendation is simply:

"All of them."

We're lucky to have several great Mexican restaurants around Ellijay, and Clint is happy to vouch for every single one.

Stacey's Pick

Stacey admitted this one took a little thinking.

"Hmm... I don't really have a favorite in Ellijay specifically, but if you're up for a short drive, my favorite so far is Southern Charm Restaurant in Blue Ridge."

If your adventures take you north toward Blue Ridge, Stacey says it's well worth the trip.

Andrew's Pick

As Mulberry Gap's chef, Andrew appreciates a good craft beverage after work.

His recommendation?

🍺 Cartecay River Brewing Co.

Local beer, good company, and a laid-back atmosphere make it an easy favorite.

Adriana's Picks

For breakfast or brunch, Adriana loves Cornerstone Café.

When it's time to unwind after a day of adventure, you'll often find her at Ellijay Tapz, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and great selection of drinks.

Tori's Pick

If pizza is involved, Tori is happy.

Her go-to recommendation is Hitching Post Pizza. It's one of those places that's consistently satisfying whether you're celebrating a big ride, grabbing dinner with friends, or simply craving a great slice.

Hitching Post is unique because it is fully to-go and ALSO a package store… so you can order your pizza, browse some cold drinks, and be ready to roll!

We'd Love to Hear Your Favorites!

One of the best parts about staying at Mulberry Gap is swapping recommendations with other adventurers. Every guest discovers a new favorite coffee shop, bakery, brewery, or hidden gem.

Have a restaurant we should add to our own list? Stop by the office and tell us about it—we're always looking for our next favorite meal.

And if you're not sure where to start, just ask. Someone on our team will almost certainly have an opinion!
