Mulberry Gap is a shared outdoor space, and we want everyone to have a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Please be respectful of other guests, our crew, our property, and the surrounding forest.

By visiting or staying at Mulberry Gap, you agree to follow the policies below.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

You're welcome to enjoy the property and shared spaces in the evening, but please keep noise to a minimum during quiet hours and be considerate of nearby cabins and campsites.

Smoking

Mulberry Gap is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted inside cabins, bathhouses, The Barn, or any other building.

A $150 cleaning fee will be charged for smoking inside any building. Additional cleaning or damage charges may apply when necessary.

Cabin Cleaning & Damage

Please treat cabins, furnishings, linens, amenities, and shared spaces with care.

Additional cleaning or repair fees may apply for damage or conditions beyond normal use, including excessive mess or trash, stained linens, missing or damaged items, excessive pet hair, or difficult-to-remove odors.

Guests are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing damaged or missing property, including any additional labor required to restore the space.

Pets

We love having pets at Mulberry Gap! Please help us keep the property comfortable and safe for guests with and without animals.

Pets must be supervised and under control at all times. When outside your cabin or RV, pets must be leashed, caged, or firmly held. Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly.

Pets are welcome in cabins, campsites, the office, bathhouses, on the grounds and trails, and on shuttles. Pets are not permitted inside The Barn or Retail Store.

Pets may not be left unattended at campsites. Well-behaved pets may be left unattended inside a cabin or RV when it is safe and temperature-controlled.

Guests are responsible for any damage, excessive cleaning, injury, or disturbance caused by their pets.

Fires & Firewood

To help prevent the spread of invasive pests, please purchase firewood locally and do not bring firewood from outside the area. Firewood is available for purchase at the Mulberry Gap office during office hours.

Fires are permitted only in designated fire pits and are subject to current weather conditions, fire restrictions, and burn bans.

When using a fire pit:

• Clear flammable materials away from the fire before lighting it.

• Do not start a fire during high winds or unsafe conditions.

• Never use gasoline, lighter fluid, or other flammable liquids to start or relight a fire.

• Never leave a fire unattended, and supervise children and pets around fires.

• Do not burn garbage or other inappropriate materials.

• Keep water and a shovel nearby while your fire is burning.

• Never leave a fire burning overnight.

• Completely extinguish your fire with water and stir the coals before leaving the area or going to bed.

Mulberry Gap may restrict or prohibit fires at any time when conditions make them unsafe.

Hot Tubs

Our shared hot tubs are available to registered guests and close at 11:00 p.m.

Hot tubs are a complimentary amenity, and while we do our best to keep them available and fully functioning, refunds or discounts are not provided if a hot tub is temporarily unavailable during your stay.

For your safety and the comfort of other guests:

• Children under 6 should not use the hot tubs.

• Children ages 6–11 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

• Rinse off before entering the hot tub.

• Do not sit, stand, or place heavy objects on hot-tub covers.

• Replace the cover when you're finished.

• Do not bring glass into the hot-tub area.

• If the water appears cloudy or dirty, stop using the hot tub and notify our crew.

Hot-tub use is at your own risk. Guests are responsible for considering their own health and safety before using the hot tubs and following all posted safety instructions.

Shared Spaces & Amenities

The Barn, bathhouses, hot tubs, outdoor gathering areas, trails, and other amenities are shared among our guests.

Please clean up after yourself, return shared items when you're finished, and be considerate of others using the space.

Children must be appropriately supervised while using shared facilities and amenities.

Registered Guests & Visitors

All overnight guests must be included on the reservation and complete any required registration or waivers.

Visitors who are not included on an overnight reservation must register as day guests and pay any applicable day-use fees.

Parking & Vehicles

Please park only in designated areas and keep roads, driveways, gates, and emergency access areas clear.

Drive slowly and cautiously throughout the property. Mulberry Gap is shared by vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, children, and pets.

Personal Property

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings, including bicycles, outdoor equipment, vehicles, electronics, and other valuables.

Please secure your belongings appropriately and do not leave valuable items unattended.

Safety & Outdoor Recreation

Mulberry Gap is located in a remote, mountainous environment. Outdoor recreation inherently involves risks including changing weather, rugged terrain, wildlife, falling trees or limbs, trail conditions, and limited cell service.

Guests are responsible for choosing activities appropriate for their experience and abilities, carrying appropriate equipment and supplies, and following posted rules, closures, and applicable land-management regulations.

In an emergency, call 911 first, then contact Mulberry Gap's on-call staff for assistance.

Respectful Conduct

We want Mulberry Gap to remain a welcoming place for everyone.

Guests are expected to treat other guests, staff, neighbors, property, and the surrounding environment respectfully. Dangerous, threatening, destructive, excessively disruptive, or unlawful behavior is not permitted.

Mulberry Gap reserves the right to require a guest to leave the property when their behavior creates a safety concern, significantly disrupts other guests, damages property, or violates these policies.

Damage, Cleaning & Additional Charges

Guests are responsible for damage, missing property, excessive cleaning, or other costs resulting from their stay or the actions of members of their party.

When applicable, the payment method associated with the reservation may be charged for reasonable cleaning, repair, replacement, or related costs.

Policy Changes

Mulberry Gap reserves the right to update these policies as needed. Additional rules or temporary restrictions may also be implemented when necessary for guest safety, property operations, weather conditions, fire danger, or other circumstances.
